Product Empties #7

It has been literally months since I last did an update. I'm not going to apologise because I've been swamped with everything that's been going on in my life. For more frequent updates on what is going on, you can check out all my social media handles (@YiQingggg on Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat/Twitter). I've been beyond stressed so I decided to head back to what relaxes me, which is playing around with beauty items.

Because I haven't been updating anything here lately, yet I've been still keeping up with my skin care and makeup everyday, I've collected my largest collection of empties to date. So I thought I will kick start my blog with a new product empties post.

October Favourites

I am beyond excited to be starting this new series on my blog. You see YouTube videos all the time on monthly favourites and since I don't really do a lot of YouTube videos besides travelogues I thought I would do a monthly favourites but in blog posts.

It's already November (where has the time gone?!) and so this means it's time for an October favourites post. These items are not only ones I have been loving in the month of October but I have loved some for months and months but since this is the first post I'm starting, I thought I would lump all of them together into one post to kick start this series. So without further ado, let's get started!

Boots & Superdrug Haul

I... went a bit crazy shopping in Boots and Superdrug. Yes I know this is definitely excessive and way more than any girl ever needs but hey, everything was so much cheaper than in Singapore. I will get through all these eventually so without further ado, let's get on with what I bought.

Face Make Up Collection

So... I am pretty aware that I only have one face and that there's only so many products I can pile on my face at one time. But when you're in the land of all things beauty (read: Korea), it's really too hard to resist the temptation not to shop.

BB Cushions have been all the rage in Korea (and in Singapore as well) and I found it so hard not to buy just one more which results in... Too Much. And since I went to Korea twice, it means, Way Too Much. Sobs.

As usual, I haven't actually tried most of the face make up I got yet (as you can tell from the fact that most of them are still in their boxes. But let's talk about the ones I have tried.

My holy grail foundation used to be Lancome's Teint Miracle before I swapped it over to the Mat Miracle because I found TM's coverage a little too light for my liking. Also, the bottle of TM I had was in a shade that was too dark for my face.

The new long wear miracle: Mat Miracle 24H. A unique combination of 4 patented Aura ™ and Eternal Soft Fix Complex™ technology, for satin luminous finish and all day wear. All-day sebum resistant and shine control. All-day heat and humidity proof. All-day no transfer.

Lancome's Mat Miracle has been my go-too foundation for quite a while before I actually swapped over to Innisfree's Eco Natural Green Tea BB Cream (picture below) because I wanted something that made my face appear brighter which MM did not do.

Although I do not believe foundations when they claim to last up to 24 hours simply because who wants foundation on their skin for 24h, it is pretty long lasting and although it starts to fade off maybe after 8 hours or so, there is still a slight coverage on my face.

Also, my T-Zone tends to get slightly shiny around the 8h mark as well.

It does not dry my face or caused any break outs which is good in my books.

The coverage definitely isn't too heavy but neither is it too light. I usually like my foundations to have a medium coverage which is what the MM offers.

Recently, I also swapped my daily foundation to Revlon's ColorStay simply because I was itching to give it a try after hearing so many good reviews online about it and I must say I am pretty impressed with it considering that Revlon's a drugstore brand.

Long-wearing coverage with Time Release Technology and a lightweight formula that won’t cake, fade, or rub off. Specifically made for combination or oily skin to control oil absorption and shine. Your look stays flawless throughout the day.

Once again, the Revlon CS is a medium to full coverage foundation which definitely hides most of the redness on my face although I do have to cover up my blemishes with some concealer on days when I really want my skin to look more flawless.

It does not cake and does not dry out my skin as well.

The staying power of this foundation is about the same as Lancome's MM which means that my make up generally does last me for the full day but starts to fade at about the 8th hour mark.

What I absolutely do not like about this foundation is that it does not come with a pump. Like what's up with that? Right now when my bottle is still relatively full, it doesn't take a lot of effort to get the foundation to come out but I predict that when my bottle starts getting empty, it's going to take a while to tip the liquid out. Also, I cannot exactly control the amount of liquid that comes out from the bottle so it is quite a hassle to deal with that.

But the formula is pretty awesome which is why I got it anyway even though I knew the CS did not come with a pump.

I have loved my Innisfree Eco Natural Green Tea BB Cream for a pretty long time and you can read my more detailed review HERE.

Essentially, this BB cream gives me a super dewy finish which I really love! I've been into the dewy finish ever since I started watching YouTube videos on Korean make up and this BB cream is super moisturizing as well.

In Singapore however, the dewy look usually equates to an oily look so what I like to do is to dust loose powder on my T Zone area and leave my cheeks just as it is. But once again, for a more detailed review, you can read my previous blog post!

The next few BB cushions and CC Creams are all unused ones that I haven't tried before so I can't exactly give a proper review on them but here are the pictures if you're interested!

Will you be interested in more detailed reviews on these products once I start using them? If you are, let me know! x

Hair Mask Collection // TRESemmé, L'Oreal & Watsons

I have been wanting to do up collection posts of all the skin care/hair care/make up products I've bought during my Korea/Bangkok trips but I never had the actual time to sit down and take these photos. So on one of the rare Mondays that I was free, I decided to take photos of my hair mask collection (and also my face makeup collection consisting of BB Cushions/Foundations/BB Creams) and do up this post!

My hair has always been pretty damaged because of how long it is (was) and because I bleached it so many times last year. I'm not a person who usually takes much care of my hair that's why the condition of my hair kind of deteriorated throughout the months....

But on my recent trip to Bangkok with my baby girls, I went all out and bought back 5 different hair masks to try! Pretty excited to give them a try and see if they really work ^^

To read the reviews, you kind of have to wait for a while because I'm not the biggest fan of opening up multiple products of the same kind just to try them. I prefer finishing the current one I'm using now before trying another one. Which results in massive hoarding because I buy many at one go and then take forever to finish it...

But anyway, the current hair mask that I'm using now is the L'Oreal Color-Vive 1 Minute Protecting Mask.

Protect and prolong the radiance of your color-treated hair with Color-Vive. Singapore's and the World's No. 1 hair care for colored hair, Colorvive protects against external aggressions that dull and weaken colored hair.

The One-Minute Protecting Mask intensely nourishes and treats to keep colored hair brilliant and prevent fading.

I've been using this hair mask for about 2-3 times a week and although I don't see much of a difference in my hair colour (because it has mostly faded to a gold colour before I started using this mask), I feel that it definitely makes my hair a lot more manageable and less tangled.

What I really like about it is also the fact that it only takes 1-2 minutes to work its magic. I'm not a huge fan of masks that require me to stay in the bathroom for 10-15 minutes because I take probably 5 minutes in total to finish showering? 10-15 minutes is just too much effort in my books.

I've heard of the brand TRESemmé before but I've never actually tried it myself. When we were in Bangkok, one of my friends saw these masks in Watsons/Boots and we decided to grab some for ourselves. Since she swears by it, I'm pretty excited to give them a try!

I bought 3 different hair masks from their different ranges and all of them sound so promising. I actually wanted to get more because all of them sounded so good but instead I opted for the Keratin Smooth, Split Recovery and the Platinum Strength ones.

TRESemmé Keratin Smooth
Infused with Keratin, the Keratin Smooth collection is specially formulated to leave hair sleek and shiny while eliminating frizz.

TRESemmé Split Recovery
Reducing split ends takes serious science. Our starting point was this: your hair's frayed ends are negatively charged. So we created a Reconstructing Complex with positively charged polymers inside a gel body... and opposites attract.

As your hair dries, split ends contract, and with continued use of our hair care for split ends, you'll be left with a look that's smooth and seemingly just cut.

TRESemmé Platinum Strength
The TRESemmé Platinum Strength Collection is formulated to reinforce hair's natural barrier, restoring and smoothing the surface of the hair, reducing frizz and bringing back shine and vibrancy. The result is beautifully smooth and healthy-looking hair that's protected against future styling damage.

I have yet to give the TRESemmé hair masks a try yet but I'll be sure to do up a review when I start using them!

My last 2 hair masks were from Watsons. Who knew Watsons does hair masks right? I sure have not seen this in Singapore but apparently Bangkok carries hair masks from Watsons.

The first hair mask I got was Watsons Anti-Frizz Treatment Wax with Argan Oil.

(I can't find the description for this hair mask online, sorry!)

And the second mask I got was Watsons Extre Shine Treatment Wax with Henna.

Watsons Henna Treatment Wax is formulated with Henna Extract and Ginseng Extract. It cleanses your hair and gives long lasting colour and shine, leaving your hair healthier and more manageable after use.
