Japan Travelogue // Day 4 & 5

The fourth day of our Okinawa trip was a free and easy day, with an optional tour for those who wanted it. As Okinawa is really expensive to get around by cab and there weren't much public buses available to facilitate transportation around the island, the whole tour group chose to embark on the optional tour.

The first stop was at T Galleria Okinawa where the whole mall was basically one big duty free shopping mall. Most of the brands in the mall were really expensive brands like Chanel, Dior, Marc Jacobs and so on. The reason for this duty free mall is because Okinawa International Airport is really small in size and the options for duty free shopping there is extremely limited so in order to provide tourists with duty free shopping, tourists are brought to this mall where they can purchase their items and have them sent directly to the airport to be picked up.

Japan Travelogue // Day 3

Our 3rd day in Okinawa definitely has got to be my favourite day so far. Not only did I get to spend the majority of it being near the sea side, I also got to view the most amazing dolphin show I've ever seen (more below). I didn't capture many photos of the dolphins because I was vlogging the whole event down so please click and watch my vlog below if you're interested in seeing how fascinating the whole dolphin show was!
Without further ado, let's proceed with what we did on our 3rd day in Okinawa.

Our first stop was to see the "elephant rock" at Cape Manzamo. The whole walk was breathtaking because we were literally atop the cliffs facing the East China Sea. Like I've mentioned previously, just put me near water and I'm good to go.

Japan Travelogue // Day 2

On our second day in Okinawa, we woke up really early to grab breakfast in the dining hall before starting off our day. I seem to find myself reaching for Japanese curry and cold green tea a lot during this trip because these were the "safe" items I knew wouldn't go wrong. The rest of the food were a bit... weird. I'm quite a picky eater so if I don't like the taste of something, most of the time I won't even try to swallow it so you can imagine how much Japanese curry I had just to fill myself up.

My mum is definitely the most adventurous of us all so she basically took a bit of everything to try. In Okinawa they have this tray with little compartments every where that serves food buffet style so you can pick a bit of everything to try, or fill a few compartments with the same food if you so wish to do so.

Japan Travelogue // Day 1

Late last year, my family decided on an impromptu trip to Okinawa, Japan. It was a pretty last minute thing and the main reason why we chose to go to Okinawa was because we were looking for a family trip that accommodates all of our clashing schedules. It had to be after my last paper, and before I went to HK and before my sister's school started so the other alternative was to go to Korea again which we didn't want to, so Okinawa it is!
