On our last day in Gyeongju, we decided to head to Daereungwon Tomb Complex because whilst we were at Gyeongju's National Museum, we read a lot about the tombs and how a lot of precious items were uncovered in them. (Also, we didn't know where else to go to.)
Mummy said it would be chilly today so I pulled on a pullover and wore high socks but nothing could be further from the truth zomg. It was so hot because the sun was shining really brightly that we all nearly died from the heat (figuratively not literally). The shade was our best friend for most of the day.
I really love Autumn colours. Fall is such a pretty season when all the leaves start changing colours and the weather gets cooler. Everyone gets to layer up and no one perspires. Also, it's not too cold (I'm super scared of the cold).
Large ancient tombs of kings and nobles of the Silla Kingdom can be seen around Gyeongju at the Daereungwon Tomb Complex (Cheonmachong Tomb). There are twenty-three large tombs located here; the most famous being Cheonmachong and Hwangnamdaechong.
In an excavation of the area in the 1970s, Cheonmachong was discovered with a painting of a mounted horse. This painting is the only discovered painting from the Silla era. You can also view the inside of Cheonmachong. There are 11,526 remains and royal crowns inside the tomb, demonstrating the lavish lifestyle of the king. Another tourist attraction is Hwangnamdaechong, the largest ancient tomb. It houses the bodies of both the king and queen and has over 30 thousand relics and gold accessories.
The unique thing about Hwangnamdaechong is that the queen's tomb has more luxurious accessories. Researchers have concluded that even the queen can have a high social position before marriage. You can feel the ancient culture of Korea 1,500 years ago when visiting these tombs. (Credit: x)

After that, since we had some time to kill before our train back to Seoul, we went to the cafe Angel-In-Us Coffee to have a drink and some cakes. I swear, something about being in Korea makes everything seem so much better, even if they might be the same in SG. I think that's what being on holiday does to you.
After that, we basically went back to our hotel, collected our luggages, and took a cab to the train station. Since we haven't had lunch yet, we went to one of the eateries in Singyeongju Station for some food.
This trip to Korea, I really ate so much food. I was constantly eating.
Took a few shots while waiting for the train to come...
And that was basically it haha. We went to Seoul, placed our luggages at our Airbnb apartment, went out for dinner then went back. I didn't manage to take photos of what happened but I did vlog pieces of it down. You can watch it below if you're interested! :>
