I haven't used eye liners in the longest time simply because SH hates it when I do. Also, I never really got the hang of drawing eyeliner properly haha. I'm just not the best when it comes to drawing eye liner on my eye.
But... Whilst I was in Korea, my friends recommended Etude House's Proof 10 Auto Pencil to me because they said they've read many good reviews about this eye liner. I got mine in the shade BR402 which is a dark brown.
Proof 10's water-proof eye pencil supplies clean, intense definition for a long lasting, perfect 10 smoky eye look. Comes with sharpener for fine line application.
- Remove cap and use pencil to trace eye lines among lash roots.
- Pull out sharpener from end and insert pencil tip into sharpener, applying light pressure while rotating pencil to sharpen.
- Reattach cap and sharpener after use.
Caution:
- Use only as directed.
- Avoid storing in high and low temperatures and areas exposed to direct sunlight.
- Cease use if problems arise.

It comes in a small and slim box with the ingredients and other random Korean words (I can't read Korean) on it.
Now, I don't know about you but my pet peeve when it comes to using pencil anything is the fact that you have to sharpen them. I love pencil products (either eye liner or eye brow pencils) but I hate sharpening them because the tip always breaks on me?! Like I sharpen it and then it breaks and I have to keep sharpening and wasting a lot of product.
But since this is an auto pencil, it means that I can just twist the pencil out and I only need to sharpen it if I want a sharper tip instead of sharpening it with every use.
Also, it glides really smoothly on my eyes (and hand) which is a dream to use and does not injure the delicate eye area. It feels more like a crayon than a pencil to be honest.
I got mine in dark brown because I didn't want my eye liner to look really obvious when I used it (see above, SH hates it when I draw eye liner). The first line drawn above was when I used a really light hand. The second line I drew with a more precise application.
Overall:
PROS:
- Pretty pigmented
- Glides smoothly
- Don't need to sharpen to use (unless you want a more precise line)
- Quite lasting
- Comes with a sharpener
- Easy to use
- Comes off easily with an eye makeup remover
- Affordable
CONS:
- Smudges slightly
I really like this eye liner! I like the whole idea of not having to sharpen it with every use. I dig the creaminess of the pencil and how it glides really smoothly so it doesn't tug on my eye area at all. It is also much easier to use than a liquid eye liner which requires a more practiced hand to achieve a clean and precise line.
I wouldn't say that this eye liner is smudge-proof though. After about 5-6 hours, I do see it coming off onto the bottom of my eye area slightly. The line still stays but it just darkens the bottom of my eye area so I have to check the mirror and rub away any smudges every once in a while. I have not exactly placed the waterproof claim to the test yet so I can't say whether it is really waterproof or not.
Overall, I'm really liking this and unless I can find a better one, I'll probably repurchase this eye liner simply because of how easy it is to use.
