Korea Travelogue // Tosokchon Samgyetang

Woke up bright and early because we wanted to grab us some samyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) for brunch!

I've heard from many people that Tosokchon's samgyetang is one of the best ones around and the waiting time can be insane, so we left slightly earlier in hopes of reaching Tosokchon just as they opened.

Mandatory selfie shot with my banana milk (I miss this so much!) in the subway because I don't get to do this in Singapore haha.

True enough, we managed to reach at about 10 ish (their operating hours are from 10am to 10pm daily btw) and there wasn't a queue yay.

Side dishes~

The star of the day: samgyetang! We opted for the normal white chicken but there's a black chicken one for people who want something different. They also serve Korean pancakes~

The soup is made with glutinous rice, gingko nuts, ginseng, garlic and jujube, as well as 30 different types of medicinal herbs and grains. I'm not a fan of herbs and nuts and ginseng in general so I stuck mainly to the chicken and the rice but my mum pretty much finished all the herby stuff heh.

I would honestly say that if you're in Korea, you should definitely try their samgyetang. Maybe not necessarily Tosokchon's? But any samgyetang since they're so famous in Korea. They're really tasty and not all of them have a really strong ginseng taste so if you're not a fan of ginseng, still give them a try. You may be pleasantly surprised by how much you like them~
