Hello guys!!!
I'm back from my super short getaway with my friends and I'm so super psyched to finally be able to leave SG, even if it was only for 3 days and 2 nights.
I've been working so hard ever since my finals ended and I really needed the break from reality and this getaway could not come at a better time :)
So on Monday, we were supposed to meet up at 9 to head to Harbourfront Centre to check in at 10am 'cuz our ferry to Batam was at 1130am, but stupid me overslept and I woke up at 10am instead.
Literally jumped out of bed and left home after brushing my teeth and washing my face, didn't even apply skin care or makeup or anything.
Thank goodness for the 1.5h advance check in if not we would have missed our ferry :(:(
We even managed to head to the DFS to grab some alcohol as well heh.
The ferry ride to Waterfront Terminal where our hotel was located was about 45 minutes only, super fast!
But we reached there about 1130am Batam time (1 hour behind SG) so we had to wait till 2pm to check in and all we did was sit around 'cuz there wash't anything to do.
BOO for late check in timings :(
It was a joke tho, we booked the honeymoon package for my friends and I and we were greeted with real rose petals on the bed and in the bath tub.
I love rose petals!
I've always wanted to check into a hotel to rose petals everywhere and I got it this time! Though it's with friends and not a significant other but oh well, ROSE PETALS!
And we had a private balcony with the view of the beach and the sea as well, super pretty!
In love with this resort already!
Our first stop after checking in and unpacking was to head for our body massage and spa!
Pretty arrangement of scented oils at the lobby of the spa!
They brought us through corridors before reaching our massage venue.
It felt like a whole other world because it was so pretty and quiet, there wasn't any one else except us there so it was pretty amazing.
Sadly, I didn't manage to take any photos of the room where we had our massage in 'cuz our masseurs were asking us to quickly change out and stuff so yeah.
It's the first time in my life getting a massage so it felt awesome!
Didn't like it when the masseurs cracked my knuckles and toes tho, I generally don't like cracking knuckles and all that.
But what I did love was the bubble bath we got after that!
Just check out the amount of bubbles we had!! It was amazing, I love bubble baths hehe.
Another picture of the scenic and quaint spa area.
Went back to the hotel room to chill and watch movies in bed before we prepared for dinner yay food!
I was so hungry because we only managed to grab a really quick lunch 'cuz I was so late :(
My outfit for the night! :)
It turns dark really quickly and early at Batam tho but we were seated by the pool side and it was pretty cooling so yay to that.
And now, foooooooood nomz.
We started off with shrimps pasta salad, the description goes fresh steamed shrimps and pasta tossed with devil leaf olive oil.
LOL.
But I gave all the shrimps away 'cuz I ain't eating those thangs.
Creamy Cheddar Soup.
Creamy and cheddar cheese soup with crunchy butter parsley croutons.
The soup was pretty good, not too creamy or cheesy actually.
My main! Chicken steak with sweet spicy balado sauce.
Grilled chicken fillet, sweet spicy balado sauce, served with jacket potato, cauliflower and carrots gratin.
The chicken and the sauce was SO GOOD.
I'm totally craving for this again nomz.
And the only other main of the night: Brolled salmon with herbs mustard sauce.
Brolled Norwegian salmon with herbs mustard glaze accompanied with buttered rice and seasonal vegetables toasted in tarragon butter.
Didn't try it 'cuz I don't like salmon but they said it was pretty good as well.
We ate till we were so full I swear I couldn't eat another bite and then since there wasn't much left to do, we went back to the room to watch more movies hehe.
The ultimate relaxing holiday!
And me being me, a crazy glutton as usual, had noodles while watching movies 'cuz I felt like it.
Woke up bright and early at about 645am the next day for some breakfast!
Ham, omelet, baked beans, sausages, potatoes, what's not to love?
Felt so sinful 'cuz I haven't been exercising recently yet I'm stuffing myself silly with food but it's a holiday!
Everyone deserves breaks right? *shifty eyes*
After that, we felt so full we decided to head to the private beach for stroll.
It was so peaceful there because there wasn't any one except us :)
The perks of waking up early.
After our food digested a little, we decided to head to the pool for a dip!
This is THE life, sitting by the pool side, with no cares at all (at least for that few days) heh.
After heading back to bathe and change, we decided to explore the part of the beach that's directly behind our room because we had some time to kill before our shuttle bus to Nagoya Mall leaves.
Another outfit picture heh.
Love my top!! I love daisies hehe.
No photos of Nagoya Mall 'cuz we were basically rushing here and there trying to find presents for everyone but finding nothing in particular boo.
Went back to the room for some drinks because what's a holiday without drinks right?
And then, I looked out of the window and saw that the sun was setting!
Made all of them head out to the beach just to catch the pretty sunset.
No filters on all my photos by the way! Everything's just too pretty there.
And then I found a stick and started poking at hermit crabs heh, a total random end to the sunset lol.
I overturned them and saw them hide back into their shells, I'm such a weirdo heh.
And all too soon, we went for dinner boooo.
Our last dinner in this laid-back island.
Tom yum soup nomz.
And I ordered grilled chicken with mushroom sauce and veggies at the side 'cuz I'm healthy heh.
No pictures at all for our last day 'cuz we woke up early again at 645am and then went back to sleep after breakfast. Too tireddd.
Packed up and left Batam with heavy hearts 'cuz I'm heading back to my hectic lifestyle once again (I have work on Thursday, the day after we head back).
But here's to working hard and saving money for more trips to come!
