Review | Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer

I have been looking for a good and relatively inexpensive bronzer simply because I have never tried one and I wanted to. Whilst I was perusing the Wet n Wild counter at Boots when I was in Thailand (I really love their Mega Last Lip Colors), I came across their Color Icon Bronzers and since they were pretty reasonably priced, I thought I would get one to give it a try.

Now, if you don't know, Wet and Wild is an American brand which we sadly do not have in Singapore drug stores. I did note that Luxola does carry a small selection of Wet n Wild products if any one is interested!

So without further ado, let's proceed with my thoughts on this product!

It comes in a simply container with a transparent plastic cover which is slightly flimsy. I've read reviews that the cover does break off pretty easily so be sure to handle it with care!

I got mine in the shade 739 Ticket to Brazil which is the lighter shade of their two bronzers.

I attempted to rip off the white sticker and I failed horribly so that's why the back looks so ugly haha. But the back states that it contains 0.46oz or 13g of product.

As you can tell from the photo below, Ticket to Brazil is this really gorgeous shimmery golden brown colour that gives a warm tan to your face. It is extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way!

I'm pretty fair so in all honesty, this shade is a little too dark on me. I really have to use a light hand with this on my skin but if you are of a slightly deeper skin colour, this will probably give you a really gorgeous sun-kissed look.

I lightly brushed my finger on the surface of the bronzer and picked up so much, so you can tell the pigmentation is really good.

One swipe on my hand produces this much colour pay off. For a bronzer that is so inexpensive, I think it is pretty amazing. It blends really effortlessly on my skin and doesn't cake up at all.

I have yet to actually test the lasting power on this product because like I said, I'm new to the bronzer bandwagon so I've been using just a little to contour my cheek bones and that's about it. I'll update this space when I've tried it more!

Overall:

PROS:
  • Really affordable price point
  • Very pigmented
  • Blends effortlessly
  • Contains a lot of product
  • Contains sun screen
  • Good for giving a sun-kissed tanned glow
  • Does not cause break outs
  • No scent

CONS:
  • May be too dark for fair skin tones
  • Colour is slightly on the warm side (for people who prefer cool tone bronzers)
  • Cover seems flimsy

All in all, I'm pretty impressed with this product and the brand Wet n Wild in general. I've only tried Wet n Wild's Mega Last Lip Colour and I'm so impressed with them already (maybe I should do a review and lip swatch post?) so I was elated that their bronzers are as impressive for something that is so inexpensive.

I would say definitely give this product a try if you're interested in trying bronzers but do not want to splurge on something expensive like Benefit's Hoola Bronzer just in case bronzers aren't your thing.

This bronzer is going to last me an incredibly long time given how light handed I am with this but hey, no complains there!

I hope this review has been helpful!
