Recently, I've really been into trying out new products. Maybe it's because I've been reading so many reviews online, I also feel like giving my two cents worth. Also, I've been trying a lot of products which doesn't seem to have much reviews online on them some how.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During my January trip to Bangkok, we wandered into a Boots stall and I picked up a couple of products from Boots. One of which is their Mango Body Butter and oh my word, it smells amazing and works like a dream.
So, Boots has a bunch of body butters in their house brand and the one I picked up is their Boots Extracts Mango Body Butter.
It comes in this sturdy round plastic jar with a cover you twist off to reveal the product inside. While I'm not usually particular about containers like this, if you're some one who is largely concerned about hygiene and prefer containers with pumps, then this product probably isn't for you.
On the top of the cover, it says this product moisturises and hydrates, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth. It also says that the shea butter is sustainably sourced and community traded.
At the bottom of the container is a list of the ingredients and it says Shea butter is used in the Boots Extracts range for its beneficial moisturising properties. Boots Shea butter is produced by communities in Burkina Faso, by using this source, Boots support their future prosperity.
Nourishing body butter containing mango extract derived from their mangifera indica fruit.
Well, like the name of this product suggests, it is a really thick, creamy butter. That being said, although it is really thick, it melts into my skin at first contact, leaving my skin hydrated and silky smooth afterwards, I don't have dry skin actually but I still really like how it moisturises my skin and leaves my skin feeling really soft afterwards. A small amount goes a long way.
I typically apply this body butter after I'm done showering at night, and right before I go to bed. It would be good to note that I usually sleep in an air conditioned room and this is probably why my skin does not feel sticky or oily after applying this product.
So, if you don't sleep in an air conditioned room, and/or you live in a humid country then this product probably may leave your skin feeling sticky before it gets fully absorbed.
Oh my word, you have to really smell this product to understand why I love it so much. Although the smell isn't really strong and overpowering, it does smell amazing. Think mango yoghurt, that's how delicious it smells. My sheets smell amazing whenever I apply this and get into bed.
Overall:
PROS:
- Really affordable price point
- Ingredients are sustainably sourced
- Creamy, buttery texture
- Smells amazing
- Hyrdating
- Blends effortlessly
- Skin feels luxuriously silky smooth
- Contains a lot of product
- Skin feels slightly sticky
- Takes a while for your skin to absorb
- Some people may find the packaging unhygienic
I am really impressed with this product. I don't remember how much I purchased this for but I remember it being pretty inexpensive.
For people with dry skin, or live in areas that are not as humid as Singapore, this probably will be like a dream to you because it is so hydrating and luxurious on the skin. However, this product probably isn't best suited those who live in Singapore and other humid countries unless you were to sleep in air conditioned rooms.
I would definitely repurchase this just based on the scent alone because it smells too good to be true honestly.
I hope this review has been helpful!
