USS trip part 1
Hi guys!
I know I said I would blog about my USS trip right?
But I'm so sorry for taking so long to do this post, I've been so busy with work and spending time with the boy that I've neglected all my online platforms! Even instagram! :(
But yes, I know I promised so here's the first part of my USS trip!
I know I said I would blog about my USS trip right?
But I'm so sorry for taking so long to do this post, I've been so busy with work and spending time with the boy that I've neglected all my online platforms! Even instagram! :(
But yes, I know I promised so here's the first part of my USS trip!
We woke up super early in the morning (well, early for our standards during the weekend) and we biked over to Harbourfront.
I was so super excited because although USS has been in operation for almost 2 years, it's my first time going there.
I've always had a fear of roller-coasters and scary jerky rides, my body refuses to put up with any discomfort whatsoever and I honestly get motion sickness even on normal bus rides.
So I put off this trip even though the boy wanted to bring me in so many times before and I only gave in because it was our anniversary.
Took a bus into RWS and headed over to get our tickets!
But first, the standard shot with the Universal "ball" outside USS!
Everyone I know who's been to USS always has to have a shot right here and that's what we did as well!
Queued up to get our tickets and surprisingly there wasn't as many people as I feared there would be.
It's the December holidays after all and everyone's free to head over to enjoy the day so I was quite glad to know that there weren't a lot of people!
As excited as a kid!
And into those gates we went!
The first thing I saw was a popcorn truck and I made the boy stand in front of it to take a picture.
In fact, I think that was what we did for most of the time when we weren't watching shows or queueing up for rides - standing in front of random things and taking photos with it.
But I think that's the same for everyone so I feel less weird about it (and that's why I have over 200 photos taken for the day!)
We rushed over to one end of USS to catch the first show (I can't remember what it was but it's the one with all the pirates and stuff.)
I was pretty clueless about what was going on for most of the show so I can't provide accurate captions for them but here are some pictures I took if you're curious about what the show was about! :)
And when it was over and all of us trickled out of the show area, I saw some rusty-looking stuff and asked the boy to take a photo for me ^^
We were heading over to Mel's Diner for lunch and while we cut through some of the places, we finally stopped to take some pictures!
Before that, we were just rushing through all the "lands" without stopping 'cuz of the show the boy wanted to catch and I was so upset :(
But yay! Now we have some free time to take pictures!
The first place we stopped at was Shrek's castle in the land of Far Far Away!
The castle was so pretty and fairytale like...... -insert happy sigh-
And just look at the amount of people mingling around!
It was a surprise when the wait for the rides took less than 15 minutes for most of them!
A picture of my baby boy standing beside a fairytale castle..... :')
But we didn't stop in every "land" to take pictures because we were headed to Mel's Diner for our lunch!
And when we got there, there was a mini performance going on right outside the Diner. Pretty ladies dancing!
And there were also classic looking cars right outside so I just had to snap a picture with them before having our food!
The cars reminded me of when I went to the States and there were REAL cars like that being driven around... How nostalgic.
The inside of the Diner is practically the type of classic American diners that you see in movies.
If only the people inside were dressed in retro outfits, it would definitely complete the whole image.
Alas, none of the people were dressed that way, the boy and I included.
Our booth in the diner!
They even have a fake jukebox right where we were sitting! It didn't play music though but we were able to "flip" the pages to see what songs there were.
Our meal at the diner!
We ordered the Crispy Chicken Burger meal.
Honestly, I thought the food was overpriced and definitely not worth the amount we paid. It costed us $24 for both our meals!
I guess it's the price you pay at touristy places but I expected it to taste better at least, the boy did say that the standard dropped since the last time he ate there so oh well.
We chilled in our booth before the boy dragged me out to finally brave the rides.
*MAJOR CRINGE*
But anyway, since we had a bit of distance to cover before we reached the rides, we took pictures along the way!
Boyfriend looking oh-so handsome with (my) shades on, standing in front of the police car.
Super pretty alley!
Can imagine awesome photoshoots taking place here.
I guess I'll end off here because of the sheer number of photos I've got.
Stay tuned for the rest of the photos!
Thank you for reading ^.^
