Beauty Stash | Colourpop Eyeshadow Palettes

Today, I'll be sharing about the 3 Colourpop eyeshadow palettes I have. I bought all of them directly from the Colourpop website and I'll link all of them below if you're interested in getting them. Most of them retail anyway from USD$12 to USD$16 which isn't the cheapest but definitely isn't that expensive either. I got all of them for a steal during the sales period last Winter which was great. They do have sales pretty often so if you're looking to get one of the palettes and you're not in a rush, just sign up for their newsletter and wait for them to have a promotion.

Colourpop is a brand that is affordable but have very good quality products and I am very rarely disappointed with anything they release. I have a huge collection of their products that I will be blogging about in my Beauty Stash series but let's talk eye shadow palettes first.

Colourpop has a really great eyeshadow formula, the eyeshadows are super buttery and creamy, blend well, and are highly pigmented. A little bit really goes a long way so unless you're into super intense eyeshadows, use a light hand with them, and knock the excess off the brush before applying the colours to your lids. I don't know how many times I've picked up a bit too much on my brush and ended up blending furiously to attempt to diffuse the colours.

They have a bit of kick back when you dip your brush or fingers into the palettes so they tend to get a bit messy after a while but if you clean the fall out periodically, I'm sure you'll be able to keep the palettes looking relatively clean and new.

The first palette I have is Double Entendre and it's a very pretty, warm neutral palette. It has 12 shades in total, 7 of them are matte which makes it a very wearable palette. According to the Colourpop website, this is how they described the shades.

Locked & Loaded: matte pale yellow
Uninhibited: metallic deep gold
Hot Bod: matte chocolate brown with gold flecks
Flasher: satin soft ivory
Nekkid: matte pastel orange
Extra Curricular: matte burnt orange
Hard: matte deep terracotta
Draft: metallic rich rose gold
Keep it PG: metallic champagne gold
Nip Slip: matte warm saddle brown
Send Noodles: matte soft tan
Teddy Bare: matte deep chocolate brown

I find that some of the mattes come off a tad chalky but nothing too crazy. The metallics in this palette are super creamy and swatch beautifully. The shades in this palette are actually pretty similar to the ones in Tarte's Toasted eyeshadow palette so if you're looking for a dupe for the Toasted palette, you may want to check Double Entendre out.

The next palette I have is Give It To Me Straight and it's has more berry/mauve shades. It has a good mix of matte and metallic shades as well and you can create so many different looks with this. I love to use this palette if I'm going on a date with Brandon because the colours here are perfect to create soft romantic looks.

Matter of Fact: pale pink
Up Front: metallic pale gold with a silvery sheen
Straight Up: metallic warm gold
BS: matte orangey brown
Frank: matte warm brown
Candid: metallic bright copper
Forthright: neutral metallic rose
Downright: matte soft pinky beige
Truth Hurts: matte peachy beige
Be Blunt: metallic rich raspberry
TMI: matte dusty burgundy
Actually...: matte deepened chocolate brown

Similar to Double Entendre, I find that the metallic shades swatch better and that you have to work with the matte shades a bit but I'm not mad at them.

I got the Dream St. palette because of Kathleenlights, one of my all time favourite YouTubers ever. I love almost every collab she does with Colourpop, save a few but only because they don't suit my skin tone. The colours in this palette are gorgeous and there are a few that I would probably never use because I'm not the most adventurous when it comes to eyeshadow shades but they look amazing nonetheless.

Shooting Star: matte soft golden brown
Magical: matte yellow peach

Star Dust: metallic true copper
Twinkle: metallic true rose gold
Sweet Dreams: metallic soft champagne with a peachy pink flip
Water Bearer: matte cool teal
Potion: matte vivid reddish rust
Spark: matte neon red
Kaleidoscope: metallic intense silvery nude
Elfish: matte rich red brown
Moony: satin soft baby pink
Mermaid Boy: metallic deep teal

The matte shades in the Dream St. palette are a lot more creamy compared to the others except for Water Bearer which is a bit chalky (you can tell from the swatches above actually). Even though I was pretty intimidated by this palette because of a couple of the shades, the rest are actually very wearable so all in all, I didn't regret getting this one.

The last palette I have is Sol and I actually have it in the older packaging. I went to the Colourpop website and they have the one with the new packaging on sale; the colours are the same though. Unlike the others, Sol only has 9 shades but it comes with a mirror which the rest do not have. This palette is definitely a warm toned one and is full of orange and pink shades. This palette is a great one for those who want to add a pop of colour to their collection.

New Digs: matte pastel peach
Anthem: metallic bright pinky copper
Dynamite: matte burnt orange
Hotel: metallic vivid copper
Motel: satin hot pinky coral
B+B: metallic pinky gold
Floaties: bright metallic orange
OOO: hot orange coral
Unwind: matte rich terracotta

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll be back with more~
