#995: My 21st Birthday

I'm so sorry that I haven't updated this space in so long! I've been hanging out at Wq's place, and going out, and working so I haven't had time to even use my laptop in more than a week. Only managed to upload my birthday pictures on my FB! And yes, I'm finally here to post up the pictures!

It was honestly such a special day despite all the obstacles we faced because I got to spend the day with almost everyone I love. It was so so special with them by my side :')

Cannot explain how happy I really felt because as cheesy as this sounds, I really felt like the happiest girl alive!

Let's start!

So I woke up early to revise for my last paper, headed to school and the moment the announcement came on to indicate that my paper was over, I happily texted everyone "HELLO SUMMER". Yay yay yay.

The worst semester of my life is over and since my last paper was on my birthday, I get to spend the rest of the day celebrating :D:D:D:D

I took the train to harbourfront to meet my sister and brother before Wq came over to fetch us into Sentosa. My poor boy was busy driving around every where to help me settle my stuff and hadn't stop since 12pm (it was 4 plus pm when he came to fetch us). 

And as soon as he dropped us off at the hotel, he was off to fetch more people. What would I do without Wq? :')

First thing we did was to decide where to put everything 'cuz it was so much smaller than I expected it to be but we made do with what we had!

Me looking perplexed 'cuz I was super drained from my paper and I still had to decide where to put everything and all that.

Pretty pictures credits to my SISTER 'cuz she willingly volunteered to be the photographer for the night because she knew how busy I would be with everything else.

I have zero regrets working like a dog and emptying out my bank account for my birthday (I took nothing from my parents and paid for everything myself. The only things I didn't pay for were the presents. I even wrestled paying half of the car rental fee from Wq!

Halfway through my panicky "WHERE-AM-I-GOING-TO-PUT-EVERYTHING" stage, the best friends arrived and came to the rescue!

Boy am I so glad that they came. I owe at least half of the fact that everything turned out great to them. They've always been there for me, ever since I was 15 and it's been a good 6 years with them by my side. I can do anything and not be afraid because they're always backing me 100% :')

Actually we didn't really need to set up much, just to move around a few of the furniture to make space for food and to set up my back drop! Hehe I love it so much?! Lusted after it for more than a year and I'm so thankful to Ming Ting who photoshopped it and Wq for helping me print it and bring it over! And of course to my brother, sister, Dawn, Pearleen and Bo Kang for helping me paste it up. Hehe so many people helped out with one back drop.

Now you know why I felt so loved and special on that day :') :')

And after everything was done, finally it's time to get ready!

I literally sat down, poured out my makeup on the floor and started applying makeup on. I'm super unglam, I know.

And then the guests started trickling in hehe. Be ready for lots of pictures of me giving this face ":D" literally. I was so happy. 

And anyway, if you're wondering (after you see the photos below) why I made everyone wear BLACK...

HEHE it's because I wanted to wear my white dress so that I could stand out the whole night ^^

Super unorthodox way of setting the place up for food but there wasn't much space to put the table so we balanced it on the hot tub and it pretty much served its purpose!

Due to some issues, poor Wq was still out getting the food even though it was past 7pm and everyone was hungry. My poor boy has been running around for more than 7 hours :( 

But since there wasn't anything to eat yet, every one started taking pictures... with MEMEMEME hehe.

My two best friends, the two people I cannot live without because they're the ones who has been looking after me for so so long. They're the only ones who aren't afraid of being blunt with me and telling me the way they see things. We've had some pretty heated arguments over the years because of our differing point of views but at the end of the day, I know whatever they do or say is for my own good.

Even though I'm the eldest and I should be the one taking care of them, I'm pretty sure they were the ones taking care of me.

I love you two so much and thank you for the past 6 years. Even though we barely meet up or talk anymore because of our clashing schedules, I know that we can always pick up where we left off, we'll never drift apart and I love you both more than life itself.

I can't believe that you're leaving me alone for 4 years while you pursue your degree overseas :'( What am I going to do when I need some one to cry to and to talk sense to me? No one knows me like you do. I'll always be waiting for you to come back and I promise I'll definitely fly over to find you whenever I can!

And the newest addition to our sisterhood LOL.

Thank you for taking care of my sister from another mother, and for finally fattening her up! I know the both of you are in Korea now, and you better take good care of her, I'll hold you responsible if anything happens to her!

Thank you for all your nonsense whenever we head out, you're probably the only boyfriend of my friends that I can feel comfortable with talking cock with 'cuz you're literally one of us girls.

To the people who kept me sane and changed me for the better, thank you so much for sticking with me even though I was still quite screwed up during my JC days. Thank you for not giving up on me and for keeping me in your prayers even though I was so much trouble back then. My JC life was the best 2 years of my school life because you were there with me throughout and never let me lose my way. I love all of you so much and thank you for making my day so special because you all were there :')

 And to the two people who made my CCA so enjoyable and memorable.. THANK YOU. Even though we're the weirdest of combinations, I'm so glad that you were both present on my special day. To Esther, thank you for being the best study partner I can ask for and for always bringing food for me 'cuz you know I get hungry often hehe. And to Samuel, hahahaha where do I even begin?! Thank you for rushing down even though you were having a field camp. Don't be a stranger ok! Thank you also for comforting me that one time I cried during a meeting (cannot remember why I did that) but thank you for caring even though we were never really that close back then. I love you both! 

And to the best siblings I ever wanted or can ever have. Even though the both of you have no choice at all, thank you so much for loving me despite all the temper tantrums I've had. Thank you for covering up for me whenever I got into trouble and for always listening to me whine even though you're busy studying/playing games LOL. I know I'm not the easiest person to be with and growing up, I was downright difficult to the both of you but I'm so glad that we've all grown up and we're all so much closer now than we have ever been. And a great big thank you for turning up despite knowing practically no one at my party. In 21 whole years, I've never celebrated a single birthday with the both of you present and I'm so glad that on the most special day of my life, you were both there with me :')

And to the one boy who has made my life a zillion times better, to the one who hasn't stopped moving just to make sure everything goes smoothly for my big day, to the one who has sacrificed so much for me.. You know I will never be who I am today if it wasn't for you. I've survived 2 years of university life only because you've been my constant support. Whenever I feel like I'm going to die because of how tired I am from work and school, you're the one who always gives me the strength to carry on and to be the best that I can be. We've gone through so much and I'm so happy that you're the one who's standing beside me on the biggest day of my life. Thank you so much for your understanding, your support, your time, and most of all your love.

And as you all know, when Wq finally appeared, that means the food's here!

We ordered pizzas from Sarpinos 'cuz it's the easiest food to settle and no one I know dislikes pizza. 

And check out my balloon! Hehe I've always loved balloons. I mean I know so many girls who are happy with bouquets of flowers for Valentines' day but I've always secretly loved helium balloons more. No idea why though.

But I'm pretty sure you can see what I mean...

I don't even remember what I was doing LOL. Just swinging around with my balloon and my flowers hehe. Wq got me purple roses! My favourite colour for roses :) 

Don't know if you remember that Wq didn't get me flowers or a ballon for Valentines' day this year 'cuz I told him not to. So happy that he got them for me on my birthday instead!

And then my babies were the first ones who insisted on me opening their presents haha.

They made me open it super carefully 'cuz they kept saying how they paid for the paper bag, paid for the paper envelop inside and everything. Even though it's true, they're still super nonsense!

They got me a long champ bag :') :')

I've always wanted to get a real one and they read my mind and got it for me first! They're really mind-readers, no one knows me better than they do!

And this poor boy had to get me a separate present 'cuz they refused to let him share their 'cuz they wanted it to be special. I love you 3 so much, never forget that :* :*

And Liqing, Ian and Mel came down too! Thank you so much for spending the time to come down even though we've known each other for only a short time :') Even though you all didn't intend to stay, thank you all the same for turning up just to wish me happy birthday! Thank you for making my weekends so much more interesting because of our weekly meet ups hehe. SEE YOU GUYS SOON. 

And the next bunch of people who insisted on me opening their present next. I've never experienced people insisting on me opening presents in front of them before!

All my friends have telepathy I swear, I don't think they know my secret obsession with VS perfumes but in one night, I got TWO. Hehe.

I don't know what I'm gonna do with so many perfumes (I have 8 different ones at home already) but I really love love love perfumes (even though I don't use them).

I'm a magpie to all things bimbotic I swear.

Another awesome part about birthdays, getting to read the cards that people write for me. 

I have a whole box full of letters and cards I've received throughout the years and I feel so happy receiving one because it meant that someone cared enough about me to bother writing/making one :')

And then halfway through, my sis and I went out to meet my ah boy Zhuang Yu!!

I'm so touched that he came all the way down by himself just for me :')

I mean no one I know came all the way by themselves, like alone, by public transport, all the way to the hotel just to find me?! Most of them had car rides in or Wq went to fetch them but ZY came by himself, so super touched :')

Sadly I don't have a picture with him but here's him and my sister getting food hehe.

Thank you ZY for taking care at me at work and for always prepping my desserts/drinks for me even though you're busy with your own work as well. Thank you for requesting to work Fridays 'cuz you know that's when I usually work at WL.

Promise I'll go back next month to work with you ok!

Even though I've only worked at WL for half a year, the people there have really grown to become a family to me. I never thought I would ever like working in the f&b industry but these people have made working there such an enjoyable thing to do. I genuinely love the people and the working environment there so much that I'm willing to wake up at 6am to go to school and then rush to work after that till 11pm, even if I have to wake up at 6am the next day. That's how crazy I am willing to be just to spend time with these people :) :) :)

And I think I look super funny in the following pictures but my word I love their present!

Hehe. I've always wanted those!! I know I'm 21 but I still have a secret love for soft toys :):) Thank you so much for getting them for me! And thank you Esther 'cuz I know you were the one who told them to get it for me :')

To the people who made university so much more than bearable for me, I thank God every single day for allowing me to meet all of you. School would be intolerable for me if it wasn't for all of you by my side. I've never been pushed so far beyond my limits by school before and I'm only able to accomplish so much because of all of your understanding of my crazy schedules. To many more years to come :* :*

It's honestly the prettiest cake I've ever seen in my life?! Thank you so much shiberty for all the hard work that went into making my princess cake in one of my all time favourite colours :')

Had to kneel down because the table was too short LOL.

And of course, I made EVERYONE take photos with me and the cake!

Here I am, asking everyone which candles to use 'cuz Wq bought 2 sets. Long story. But LOL yes I had 2 sets of candles to choose from. WHO ELSE HAS THAT? I'm special. Hahahaha.

And then, the awkward moment when you realize that you don't have a knife to cut the cake....

But no worries, the hotel staff came to the rescue and produced a knife within like 2 minutes?

I beheaded my own cake and Dawn looks so happy with the top tier LOL.

To some one totally random LOL. Thank you for inviting Wq to go to the Genting Highlands trip with you because if you didn't do so, I wouldn't have the chance to make so many new friends like Mel, and Liqing and Ian and Samuel. Thank you also for all the late night roundings which make my weekends more interesting (even though all we do is eat). And thank you for accompanying Wq to get my present hahahaha. I honestly cannot believe you were there that day, tell you why next time (if you even see this and bother to ask me why)!

By then, most people had already left, 'cept for this few and my work friends 'cuz more of them were coming after work!

And then my bosses came!! I mean who else has awesome bosses who make a trip all the way over just to wish me happy birthday?!

This bunch of sweet pies bought me the shoe I've been lusting after for so long!

They've been bugging my sister for so long because they didn't know what to buy for me but all these sweeties didn't have to get me anything.

In fact, no one had to get me anything at all, I'm perfectly happy to have them there with me on my birthday, and I'm so thankful they loved me enough to bother :):):)

The work people left about 2 ish and finally we (Wq, D, P, BK, K) moved into the air conditioned room.

And I'm super in love with this necklace, I've always wanted Tiff&Co for the LONGEST time and my dream finally came true to own the necklace I've always wanted. I love it so much, I promise I'll wear it EVERYDAY.

Thank you so so much for everything guys, I really had the best day of my life not because of all the gifts but because of all of you. It would never have been this special if you all weren't there by my side. Thank you everyone who wished me, everyone who wanted to be there but couldn't and everyone who did turn up just for me. I'm so grateful that all of you came into my life because my life would never be the same without you in it. Thank you for making my day special :')
